Echo: Trains delayed into London Trains delayed into London

TRAINS have been cancelled and delayed during rush hour following signal and point failures.

c2c trains between Shoebury and London Fenchurch Street have been delayed by up to an hour this morning due to a signal fault at Pitsea and point failure at Hornchurch.

Some trains between Shoebury and London have been cancelled during the rush including the 8.05, 8.40 and 9am trains. Others are travelling at a reduced speed.

Greater Anglia and London Underground’s district line is accepting tickets on “reasonable routes”.

The delays are expected to last until 12pm today.

Hmm, points failure at Pitsea, the day after engineering works in the same area. Cannot help but think this could be a recurring problem until the work is finished in late May.

I wonder how much money C2C get off Network Rail for these delays ?, as most people were delayed about 40-50 mins, they wont be able to claim a penny in compensation.
