SIX men have pleaded not guilty to charges of affray and assault following a brawl outside a Rayleigh bar last summer.

The men were identified from CCTV footage of the violence at Bar Blanco, on Eastwood Road.

They were given unconditional bail and will now appear at Basildon Crown Court in the week commencing Monday, July 28.

The six men, aged between 25 and 39, were charged with using, or threatening, unlawful violence and causing others to fear for their safety.

The incident occurred in the early hours on Sunday, June 30 last year, as bouncers at the bar tried to evict a stag party of about ten men.

Gokhan Gurler was arrested at the scene, but later released, with the other five men identified via CCTV footage.

David Steff and Robert Lennon, of Pevensey Gardens and Mapledene, Hullbridge, as well as Danny Deller and Gurler, or Loughton and Romford respectively, were charged with affray.

Robert Sellick and Spencer Joyce, of The Avenue, Canvey and Colchester respectively, were charged with affray but also of assaulting two women causing actual bodily harm.
