A SCHOOLGIRL from Hockley was involved in a hit and run.
The 14-year-old was hit and injured by a van which failed to stop on Saturday, May 11, during a school trip to Little Baddow.
She was among a group of pupils taking part in a school activity weekend.
They were walking along Church Street, near the junction of Colan Street, at about 10.30am when a white dropside van passed the group and its wing mirror struck the girl on the back of the head, knocking her to the ground.
She was taken to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and was treated for a cut to her head. She was allowed home later that day.
The van, which was carrying tools and logs on the back, was last seen turning into Holybread Lane.
Police want to hear from any witnesses - especially the driver of a small black car travelling behind the van – or anyone with information about the vehicle.
Call Pc Andy Sumner from Chelmsford Road Policing office on 101 or email 2795@essex.pnn.police.uk.
