UPDATED: Elderly woman hospitalised after bike crash in Leigh

A 71-YEAR-OLD woman from Leigh has been taken to hospital with chest injuries after being hit by a motorbike.

The woman and the red Honda XL bike collided on Rectory Grove at about 7.30am causing the road to be closed between Marine Parade and Broadway West while emergency services attended the scene.

Paramedics took both the female and the motorbike rider to hospital to be treated for chest and leg injuries respectively.
