ONE of the county’s biggest Armed Forces celebrations events will be held near Billericay the weekend before Armed Forces day.

The event will feature flying displays by classic aircraft, demonstrations on the ground, live music and other attractions.

The South Essex Armed Forces Day 2014, at Barleylands, in Barleylands Road, Billericay, is being organised on June 21 and 22 by the Essex Military Support Association.

Chairman Dan Rodgers said: “The quality of the performers and exhibitors joining us is incredible.

“I’m not aware of an event like this in the UK this year.

“With about a dozen different units from across all the Forces coming together to receive the support of the public, this will be one spectacle in 2014 people won’t want to miss.”

Flying displays will feature Second Word War aircraft, including the Spitfire, the Hurricane and Lancaster bomber, plus more recent Gnat trainers.

he Army will demonstrate how it carries out medical evacuations under fire, while Essex Fire and Rescue Service will also give a demonstration.

There will be a motorbike parade, a dog display and music from Luciee Closier, a finalist in BBC1’s the Voice talent show and aspiring opera singer Marilena Gant.

As a veteran who has been ignored by Rayleigh Town Council and got pushed out of Rayleigh by Essex Military Support Association and ignored by Dan Rodgers. I find it utterly distasteful that serving and veterans are not told by this group and the Echo that if you serve your country or have served your country admission should be FREE!!!!!!!

£10 quid entry, for a show done by others, my old Regiment won't be going, as we feel this is a jump on the band wagon, money making exercise, I expect they'll be selling special poopies, 5 quid each..

There have been many events held at Barleylands that I've wanted to go to but haven't because the admission fee is just too much for me.

The 'Chairman' is an employee of the Echo. This 'ADVERTISMENT' should be marked up as an ADVERTISMENT - PRESS COMPLAINTS COMMISSION anyone? The did exactly the same last year. EMSA led people to believe they had to buy a programme at Rayleigh to gain prioritised entry. They actually stopped people without programmes going in before those with had entered. King Georges Park is not allowed to charge an entry fee, its in the Covenant and was given too the people to enter free. He knew this but still went ahead.

Now involved with Southend Air Show to bring back and the new civvy organisers of Southend Armed Forces Day 2015. The original veteran organiser of what was suppose to be Armed Forces Day Southend on Sea 2014, is the same veteran who he pushed out of Rayleigh. The veteran is ex-216! Why are you not picking up the story ECHO, you know what's going on and the people have a right to know All the military assets attending need to be made aware and pull out. They don't even have the respect to put a picture up displaying an Armed Forces Day Flag.

Don't delete this information again ECHO, the people of Essex need to know the truth. If David Traynor wants a story, he knows who to contact.

Please accept my apologies, I inadvertently posted in our old Armed Forces Day Southend on Sea ID. We are no longer the official Southend Armed Forces Day organisers. This is due to an underfunding issue between Southend Borough Council and ourselves.

Not sure but this is what the advice states on premium number beginning with 0844.:

http://www.area-code
s.org.uk/0844-number
s.php

"What are 0844 numbers?
In the UK, 0844 numbers and all other numbers beginning '084' are charged at special rates, which are nearly always higher than for calls to normal landline phone numbers.

0844 numbers are commonly used for telephone support lines or customer service and enquiry centres. They include: 08440; 08441; 08442; 08443; 08444; 08445; 08446; 08447; 08448; 08449."
