A SUPPORT group for people with diabetes launches in Basildon next week.

The Diabetes UK group, supporting anyone living with or affected by the condition in Basildon, will be launched by the charity’s president Richard Lane.

Mr Lane, who will be speaking at the group’s first meeting, said: “With the numbers of people with diabetes on the increase, it is vital for Diabetes UK to reach out into communities and provide support.

“I am delighted to be at the first meeting of the newBasildon group to share my experiences of living with Type 1 diabetes and to give the group my backing.”

The first meeting of Basildon Diabetes UK group is on Tuesday, June 10, from 7pm until 9pm, at the Education Centre, Basildon Hospital, Nethermayne, SS16 5NL.

The group is open to anyone living with diabetes as well as friends, family and carers of those who have diabetes..
