A KNIFE-WIELDING robber threatened an arcade worker to steal hundreds of pounds of cash.
The masked knifeman stormed into Benfleet Amusements on London Road on Tuesday evening at about 7pm.
He terrified staff by threatening and demanding cash. He was given a small three figure sum of money and fled from the arcade.
DS Phil Smith said: "Whilst he managed to get away with only a relatively small amount of cash he caused fear and trauma with staff at the arcade.
"We are appealing for witnesses or anyone who knows the suspect to come forward to identify this person."
He was wearing a balaclava, was believed to be white, aged in his mid-30s and about 5ft 6ins tall and of stocky build, wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
Anyone with information should call investigating officer Dc Keith Draycott at Southend CID on 101 with extension 470154, or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
