A DELIVERY driver was robbed of an £11 pizza at gunpoint.
Essex Police launched the police helicopter and scoured the area with dogs following the incident, but could find no sign of the attackers.
The delivery man, who was working for Cosmos Takeaway in South Walk, Basildon, was left shaken by the incident but was otherwise unharmed.
The drama unfolded as the victim was dropping off a pizza at a house in the road.
He was approached by two men, one of whom was carrying a black handgun.
The gunman demanded the driver hand over his mobile phone, money and the pizza.
The robbers then fled towards Oakwood Grove with the food and £15.
The first robber was aged 16 to 20 years, 5 ft 7 ins to 5 ft 10 ins tall.
He was slim, wearing black jeans, a hooded jacket and holding a black handgun.
The second robber was also 16 to 20 years, 5 ft 7 ins to 5 ft 10 ins tall, and slim.
He was also wearing jeans and a hoodie.
Angie Torrance, station sergeant at Basildon police station, said: “Essex Police are treating this incident extremely seriously.
“This was a terrifying attack on a man while he was at work.
“It is extremely important that this pair are caught and I would urge anyone with information to contact Essex Police.”
