A MOTORCYCLIST has been left seriously injured after losing control of her bike.

The 29 year-old rider went flying off her black Honda CBR as she was going along Brays Lane, Canewdon, yesterday evening.

The woman, who lives locally, is thought to have lost control of the bike.

She was airlifted to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, for specialist treatment and emergency surgery.

Her condition is described as stable, but she has serious leg injuries.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the motorcyclist before she crashed at about 6pm.

Pc Matt Geldart, investigating officer, said: "There were no other vehicles involved in this collision so we do need to speak to those people who saw this motorcyclist riding along Brays Lane just before she crashed as they are the only people who can tell us what happened.

“The woman has sustained some nasty injuries and is recovering after surgery.”

A section of the road, between Ashingdon Road and Hyde Wood Lane, was closed for three hours while forensic collision investigators carried out their initial scene inquiries, in a bid to find out the cause of the crash.

Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officers at Southend roads policing unit on 101.
