POLICE are offering a £1,000 reward for information on a wanted man.

Officers from Essex Police and Sussex Police have teamed up to track down Simon Knights, 38, who is believed to have carried out a spate of burglaries.

He has friends in both Southend and Basildon, and police believe he could be staying in either town.

Four houses in Barnham, West Sussex, were broken into on Monday, June 16, and jewellery was stolen.

Another attempted burglary took place in the area on the same day.

On Thursday, June 19, a house in Burgess Hill, East Sussex, was burgled and several hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery was taken.

Knights is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and has ginger hair.

A £1,000 reward is being offered, subject to his arrest and conviction for one or more of the offences.
