ANOTHER arrest has been made as investigations continue into the murder of Hassan Mohammed Ibrahim in York Road, Southend, on Monday.

Police arrested a 17-year-old from Southend on Friday evening at an address in Burdett Avenue, Westcliff and he is now being questioned at Southend Police Station.

Three other men, aged 17, 18 and 18 from North London, who were arrested on Wednesday, July 9, remain in custody and helping officers with their enquiries.

Mr Mohammed, 24, of Camberwell, London, died in hospital on Tuesday morning after being stabbed twice in York Road at around 7pm on Monday, July 7.

Senior investigating officer, detective chief inspector Simon Werrett said: "Four people are in custody and are helping us with our enquiries.

"The response from the public has been great, but I would still urge anyone who has any information who has not yet spoken to us to contact us.

"We are particularly interested in any motorists who were in the York Road area around 7pm on Monday.”

Six men arrested on Monday, July 7 in connection with the murder have been released from police custody with no further action in relation to the murder.
