Blaze a trail to 12 gardens and help a good cause
GARDENS will be open to the public to raise money for charity.
The fourth annual charity garden trail, organised by Canvey Island Town Council, takes place on Saturday.
From 10am, visitors can enjoy 12 gardens across the island.
Programmes, detailing the exact locations, are available at the council office, in High Street. Each £3 programme allows one adult and children under 16 entry to all the gardens.
Money raised will go to Castle Point Sports Club for the Disabled, who run activities for people with disabilities and illnesses at Lake ViewHall, of Winter Gardens School, Canvey.
Peter May, town council chairman, said: “Our grateful thanks to all 12 garden owners for entering their gardens this year.
“We have a variety of gardens taking part and without the support from the gardeners, this event would not happen.
“The council is also grateful to Aspect Maintenance Ltd for sponsoring the trail.
“Everyone is invited to visit the gardens. It’s an opportunity for people to get ideas and advice for their own garden and help a great local cause.”
Plants and jams will be on sale at some locations. Refreshments will also be available at some of gardens and cream teas will be on offer at St Nicholas’s Church.
