THREE children have swum more than 3,000 metres between them to raise money to revamp their school playground.

Samson, Sebastian and Shula Main, of Norwich Avenue, Southend, did a sponsored swim at Temple Sutton Primary School, in Eastern Avenue, Southend, yesterday, in aid of the school’s £20,000 playground refurbishment.

Mum Joanna said: “Shula, Samson and Sebastian are doing a sponsored swim to say thank you to Temple Sutton Primary School as the school has supported and encouraged them to achieve great results.

“Shula attended the school before going to King Edmunds and Sebastian is in Year 4 at the school.

“It is Samson’s last year at the school before he moves on to Westcliff High School for Boys in September and it is due to the hard work and encouragement of all the teachers he has achieved so much.”

Samson, 11, and Sebastian, eight, hope to do 80 lengths of the 17-metre pool each and Shula, 13, plans to do 20 lengths.
