FIREFIGHTERS tackled a huge fire involving 20 tonnes of manure.

The two Corringham crews were called to Springhouse Road, Corringham, just before 3.15pm today.

The incident commander reported that 50 per cent of the muck heap was alight and they used one main jet and two hose reels to tackle the blaze.
