A YOUNG mum has raised £780 for a fiveyear- old girl suffering with cancer.
Melissa Glover, 19, of Rochford Road, Canvey, held a charity walk in fancy dress around the island’s seawall.
Altogether, she has raised £780 for Summer Allen, who is suffering with Neuroblastoma.
Summer, from Yorkshire, was diagnosed with the illness, which is the growth of a tumour in the nervous system, at the age of three. Miss Glover, who is mum to seven-month-old Liam, said: “Everyone dressed up and it was a great day.
I have sent the money to Summer so she can spend the money on whatever she wants.
“I am so pleased with the amount of people who came together for the little girl.
“I’d like to express my thanks to everyone who raised all this money and helped me make this little girl smile again."
