A MAN woke up in hospital with serious facial injuries and no idea of how he got there.

The 32-year-old man from Scotland, who was staying with friends in Southend, was found by a member of the public shortly before 6.45am on July 17 outside Cliffs Pavilion before paramedics took him to Southend Hospital.

Police believe he was a victim of assault and wish to speak to the member of the public who found him.

Investigating officer Det Con Sam Boyd said: "The victim doesn’t remember what happened to him - the first thing he knew about it was when he woke up in hospital.

“His mobile phone and Galaxy tablet was missing.

“I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened.

“In particular I would like the member of the public who called the ambulance service to get in touch with me.

“The victim suffered some serious injuries as a result of what happened.”
