A CAR overturned in a crash in Benfleet.

The vehicle was on its roof in Ferry Road following the accident at 5.25pm, which is not thought to have involved other vehicles.

The male driver escaped unharmed and did not need to go to hospital after being assessed by paramedics.

The roadwas blocked both ways near the station and drivers were told to find other routes.

Motorists were diverted through Sadlers Farm Roundabout and the A130 Canvey Way until shortly before 7pm when the road reopened.
