THIEVES broke in to a house and then stole two bikes from a shed.

They broke in to the house in Fauners, Basildon between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Monday by forcing a back door.

They took two pedal cycles and some jewellery from the house.

The owners still do not know the value of what was taken.
