TWO swimming pools have been given a prestigious pool water quality award.
Both pools at Waterside Farm, on Canvey, and Runnymede Pool, in Thundersley, were tested by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity.
The pools are the first ever to achieve this award in the UK, which recognises good practice and provides a framework for promoting high standards of pool water quality across the UK.
Assessments were made against current industry standards and provide swimmers with the reassurance that their pool water has been reviewed by specialist assessors.
Tom Skipp, councillor responsible for environment and leisure said: “This is most definitely a feather in the cap of our leisure teams who run the two pools in the Borough and I would to thank everyone involved.”
