A TEENAGE girl broke down in tears before telling a court how she was raped in the back of a car.

The 18-year-old from Southend, who was 16 at the time, gave evidence at Basildon Crown Court yesterday against Colin Trotman, 46, who is accused alongside Reynold Dyett, 55, of plying young girls with alcohol and raping them in Southend.

A video was played to the jury of the girl’s interview with a police officer before she herself gave evidence behind a screen but, upon entering the court, she immediately broke down in tears.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the court how she had been invited by an old acquaintance, who was 15 at the time, to go drinking at a Kursaal flat on November 28, 2012.

The court then heard Trotman and Dyett arrived in a green BMW convertible to pick the girls up.

The party then drove to Booze-Up in Westcliff to buy vodka before heading to the Garrison car park in Shoebury, where the girl claimed she was told to take her clothes off on the beach, but refused.

She told the court Trotman then forced her to give him oral sex and raped her in the back seat of the car at Garrison car park.

However, Trotman’s barrister Mr Bagnall asked the girl: “At no stage throughout all of this did you say no – at no stage did you indicate you didn’t want to have sex with Colin, either by words or actions, did you?”

She replied “No.”

Dyett is also accused of touching the girl without consent during the incident.

Trotman, of Wetherill Road, Hackney, is accused of two counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of rape and one count of conspiracy to meet a child following grooming.

Dyett of Elderfield Road, Clapton, is accused of one count of sexual assault and one count of conspiracy to meet a child following grooming.

The trial continues.
