A MAN was arrested for a string of offences after his car triggered number plate recognition cameras.
Armed response officers managed to track down the white Volkswagen Golf with the help of the police helicopter after its registration number was picked up by ANPR cameras in Southend.
Asllan Byberi, of Station Road, in Rainham, Kent, was arrested on the A127, between the junctions of Rayleigh Weir and the A130, at about 5pm on Thursday.
He has since been charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, two counts of possession of identity documents with intent, driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.
Byberi will appear before magistrates in Chelmsford today.
