Speed camera set alight in Leigh

Firefighters from Leigh were called to London Road at 3.40am today and used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze, leaving after about 20 minutes.

Sub officer Chris Seal said: "We've had this a few times, and this is probably the third or fourth one I've done over the years.

"I don't know if someone gets flashed and tries to get rid of the evidence or whether it's just pure vandalism but they do seem to target them randomly."
