ART students from South Essex College are exhibiting their work at the Southend campus gallery.

Two week-long exhibitions entitled Elements and Innuendo started yesterday.

Fine art and art and design students were given the title themes to help them create pieces of work that represented those subjects.

Alyshia Willis who studies on the fine art course designed an installation entitled “Air Traffic”

made up of flying origami birds bathed in light.

Alyshia, 17, from Thorpe Bay said: “To me, elements symbolise nature and straight away I thought of birds. I wanted to design something different, origami really interest me so that’s why I chose to make the birds with that technique.”

Members of the public can view the exhibitions during the week between 9am and 5pm, 4.30pm on Friday.
