A MUM is fuming after her 30th birthday at a trampoline park was cancelled with no refund.

Rachael Davis, from Basildon, was looking forward to having 16 friends and family members to a party on Sunday at Gravity Force, at Festival Business Park.

Each person paid about £11.50 for an hour’s session and special socks.

However, she was shocked to discover the trampoline park closed suddenly this week after the Basildon arm of Gravity Force went into liquidation.

The party has been left £160 out of pocket.

“I didn’t even get a cancellation email until Tuesday.” Miss Davis said.

“I called them on Monday and they said that I won’t get my money back but they have transferred my booking to the nearest centre which is in St Albans.

“That’s a 50-minute drive away.

“I have family coming down from the Midlands and my sister can’t drive so it is not really practical for us to get there.

“It would be a two-hour journey for just an hour of trampolining.”

She added that being given only six days for the cancellation was in breach of the park’s own rules, as the company required 14 days notice to be given for customers to cancel.

Miss Davis said: “I have never had a big party before. I am gutted that they have cancelled it.

“I’m a grown woman but I am sure they had children having parties and they would be so upset to have it cancelled.

“My children are upset and it wasn’t even their party.”

She has now arranged a meal instead.

A spokesman from Gravity Force confirmed the Basildon part of the company had gone into liquidation.

They added: “As a result of going into liquidation, it is in our hands of our liquidators.

“We cannot comment on individual cases.

“We have been giving out vouchers of the same value or transferring them to the St Albans park which is less than an hour away.”
