CROWDS flocked to an art exhibition in Hullbridge where over 250 works of art were on display.
The event, organised by Trevor and Lynne Bavin, of Hullbridge, at the Hullbridge Community Centre, Pooles Lane, was a huge success.
Mrs Bavin, said: “We had 250 paintings from all local areas, some from Southend, some from Basildon, but mainly Hullbridge. It was absolutely fantastic.
“We had a cake stand as well.
“A young lady made 200 cupcakes and the money was for Marie Curie.
“We also had a raffle for the air ambulance and raised £80.
”There was also a stall selling short story books, they sold about 45 at £4.50 each and that was a nice bit of money for the air ambulance. “
The exhibition was open from 10am to 5pm.
The organiser added: “It went really well, we couldn’t have asked for more.
“It was well supported by local people.
“We did one two years ago, then this year and we will most probably do one in another two years.
“It was nice for artists to get together and talk about their art, it was lovely.”
