A HORSE sanctuary has issued a warning to people after horses were burnt with lanterns.

P.G Eventing, Brentwood found horses had burns from Chinese lanterns that are often set off during events and or parties.

The company owners took to their Facebook page to post a strong message.

In the post the bosses said: “So we are all a little devastated here at PG, as we arrived this morning to see our lovely four year old Danny has suffered severe burns to his face.

“This was caused by one of the Chinese lanterns, please let this be a warning. Although they might look pretty they can cause serious damage and injuries to livestock if not life threatening.

“Our vet has been and treated Danny and all vital checks are fine it is purely skin injuries and no burns are too deep, we have been extremely lucky and he will make a full recovery.

“Feel free to share between yourselves and groups.”
