MORE than 100 Volkswagen owners cruised in a colourful and shiny convoy to raise money for a hospice.
The VW vehicles, which dated from the Fifties to 2016, set off from the Grange, in Boreham, before travelling to Castle Point for a short stop outside the council offices in Kiln Road, Benfleet.
The group, which was raising money for Chelmsford-based Farleigh Hospice, then drove on to Uncle Toms Cabin, in Shoebury.
Paul Bridger, 42, is the organiser of the SX Dub Club car meet and arranged the event with the Essex VW Night car meet club.
He said: “It was a brilliant turn out and went very well.
“We managed to raise £600 for Farleigh Hospice which is a charity close to all our hearts.”
