HERE are six cases heard at south Essex magistrates' courts:

  • DAVID Brockett, 44, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing up to £100 worth of meat from a Co-op store in Stanford-le-Hope.

The offence took place on September 30 last year.

Magistrates fined him £40 and ordered him to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

  • JASMINE Zakevics, 24, of Horkesley Way, Wickford, admitted dishonestly assisting in the removal of a stolen iPad, worth £175.

The court heard that the iPad belonged to Gadget, in Market Pavement, Basildon. The offence happened on December 9.

Magistrates fined her £120 and ordered her to pay £175 compensation. She was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

  • MARK Bushell, 49, of Westborough Road, Westcliff, admitted deliberately damaging a Ford Mondeo.

He caused £150 worth of damage to the car on Christmas Day last year.

Magistrates ordered him to take part in a rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £150 compensation.

  • LEE Leverett, 51, of Fairview, Canvey, was banned from driving after he was caught drink-driving.

He admitted the offence, which happened in Point Road, Canvey, on December 21.

The court heard that he had 59 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeding the prescribed limit.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 12 months and fined him £120.

He was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

  • KAREN Makepeace, 41, of Falcon Way, Shoebury, sent a letter, a photo and two text messages to a man, which she was prohibited from doing via a restraining order.

She admitted the offence, which took place between November 30 and December 14.

Magistrates ordered her to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and they extended the restraining order until January 2018.

She was also ordered to pay a £85 victim surcharge.

  • JOSEPH Nyoni, 23, of South Avenue, Southend, was banned from driving for 12 months for driving without insurance.

The offence took place in London Road, Leigh, on April 3 last year.

Magistrates fined him £660.
