HELP is at hand for those who struggle to use computers and the internet.

Southend Adult Community College is urging those who have never used a computer to sign up for its ICT course.

Courses are held at the college’s Southchurch Centre, Ambleside Drive, Southend. Some are free and all have price reduced concession fees for those aged over 65 or those in receipt of an income-based benefit.

A spokesperson for the college said: “Many unemployed, elderly or disabled people are still to catch up with the digital revolution, with nearly half of single pensioners still having no internet access at all.

“At SACC, we have a vision to help improve the local community. We want to help people gain the skills and confidence needed to get online and get the most out of what the internet and modern technology can offer, bringing digital skills and know-how to everyone or anyone who wants a bit more confidence using technology.”

The classes offer a supportive, non-pressurised and friendly environment where anyone and everyone can get involved and there are no age restrictions.

To enrol, call 01702 445700 and discussing your needs with a member of the college’s friendly enrolment team.
