POLICE investigating an assault on a woman have released an efit of a man they want to speak to.

A woman in her 20s was walking by the underpass in Southernhay, Basildon, from the railway station at about 10.15pm on Tuesday, January 10 when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man pulled her hair, punched her in the face, and tried to push her to the ground.

He also made sexual comments towards her.

The victim managed to fight him and get away, but suffered injuries.

The man is described as white, in his late 20s with dark, shaved hair, clean shaven and what appeared to be a broken nose.

He was wearing a black hooded top and grey tracksuit trousers.
