SOUTHEND Council has agreed to start proceeding to revoke an ancient bylaw and allow a quirky new attraction on the pier.
At the Cabinet meeting, it was agreed that the council would act to revoke bylaw 18 which restricts the use of bicycles or other wheeled vehicles on the Pier.
It is hoped that rickshaws will become a permanent feature on the pier, as early as this summer, which is hoped to boost tourism and be used for one off events including weddings.
