The pregnant woman who was hit by a car outside her shop is now in a stable condition, police have confirmed.
The woman, in her 30s and six months pregnant, was left with serious injuries to her head and face after being hit by a car outside Turnpike Off Licence in London Road, Leigh.
Police have confirmed that she is now stable and her injuries are no longer considered life-threatening. Her baby was unharmed during the incident.
A man has been charged in connection with the hit and run outside a Leigh off licence that left a pregnant woman fighting for her life.
Rico Dupres, 25, of Anderson Close, Enfield, has been charged with GBH with intent, fraud, dangerous driving and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates court this morning.
