Staff, patients and visitors could find out more about research and trials at Basildon Hospital during International Clinical Trials Day on Friday.
The research and development team set up an information stand in the main reception at the hospital and were on hand to highlight the many studies the hospital is involved in and explain more about how people can get involved.
The team are currently running 130 different studies, and last year recruited more than 2,300 volunteers to take part in research covering a range of illnesses, including diabetes, cancer, cardiology and rheumatology.
Discovering more about the causes and possible treatments of motor neurone disease is among the research projects that patients at Basildon Hospital are currently helping with.
