The motorcyclist who was killed in a serious crash in Orsett last weekend has been named.

Oliver Brown, 25, was riding a green Kawasaki motorbike at about 11am on Saturday (August 12) when he was involved in a crash with a silver Audi A4.

Paramedics treated Mr Brown but were unable to save his life and he died at the scene.

This morning, the inquest into his death was opened and adjourned.

Coroner’s officer Lynsey King said: “He was riding his motorcycle on the A128 towards Brentwood when a car coming out of a junction collided with him.

“A post mortem was carried out and a provisional cause of death is multiple injuries.”

Senior Essex coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray set a date for the inquest of November 28.

The accident happened at the junction of the A128 and the A13 - commonly known as the Orsett Cock roundabout.

The driver and passenger of the Audi were uninjured.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or people with information or dash cam footage to contact the serious collision investigation unit on 101.
