Footballer Nile Ranger was stopped by police after this week’s Southend United game.
The 26-year-old shared video footage of the stop on his Instagram account which showed him being breathalysed.
A statement from the force said: “We stopped a BMW which had been seen driving erratically in London Road, Westcliff at around 10.45pm.
“The driver, a 26 year-old man, was given a breath test which came back negative. No action was taken.”
