Essex Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Broadway, Grays, where four men forced entry to an address and sprayed the victim in the face with a liquid substance.
The men, who were reported to have been in possession of knives, took a wallet containing a two figure sum of cash, and cards was taken, and they left the house.
The incident happened between 11.30pm on November 10 and 12.30am on November 11.
The victim was taken to hospital for injuries, which were not believed to be serious.
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, and released on police bail until December 8.
