Mr Pearson said: “What you have achieved is incredible and will set your career on the path to success. Getting your degree has given you the competitive edge to get ahead. Earning a degree today is a challenging process - you must be persistent and believe in yourself.”

Mum-of-four Katie, 35 teaches hairdressing and completed the Diploma in Education & Training. She said: “I remember my first day at Seevic College like it was yesterday.

“I struggled, but my passion and sheer determination kept me going. I asked for help and Lesley supported me even through her own lunch break.

“I was so worried, scared, and nervous but break it down, reflect and look at what you have already achieved in life. It doesn’t matter if it takes you longer than others, you will succeed if you want it enough.”
