A man has been injured after a fire in the roof of a house.
Firefighters were alerted to a fire in the roof of a house in Kelvedon Close, Billericay by a passer-by who spotted smoke coming from the property at 10.30am this morning.
When fire crews arrived they found a male, who had been doing building works, had fallen from the roof and immediately gave him first aid and called for an Ambulance.
Fire crews used ladders to climb onto the roof of the semi-detatched property, and removed some of the roof tiles to gain access to the fire.
Firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the fire and stop it spreading to the rest of the property.
The man was left in the care of the Ambulance Service at 11:30am.
