CHILDREN from the radiation-struck area of Belarus enjoyed a trip to Norfolk thanks to a Thurrock charity.

The children from Belarus, the country which borders the Ukraine, were visiting to get respite from the effects of radiation still occouring from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster which happened in 1986.

The UK trip and seaside holiday to Scratby, Norfolk, was organised by Jean Lindsay of Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline and Daphne Hart of Thurrock-based Holiday Homes For the Handicapped.
