BUDDING film-makers from Belfairs High School have made a film promoting safe driving.

Years 9, 10 and 11 pupils from the school, in Highlands Boulevard, Leigh, have been filming across the borough over the past three months to produce the film, which will be used in local schools and colleges by the Government road safety Think campaign.

Media teacher Luis Amador said: “We have used various venues, including the Chapel of Rest at Southend Hospital.

“The ambulance and fire services have provided us with invaluable reality for the filming process.”

Kaye Roberts, road safety advisor for Southend Council, said: “The film will be used by the Department for Enterprise, Tourism and Environment to promote safe driving among older teenagers.

“We are very grateful to Belfairs staff and pupils for taking on this project.”
