A SCHOOL has been praised for its outstanding sixth form.
The Mayflower School, in Billericay, impressed Ofsted inspector Stephen Abbott, who said the school was good overall and rated several aspects as outstanding.
Mr Abbott said: “Students’ attendance, behaviour and enjoyment of school are outstanding.
“This contributes to a positive ethos where students want to learn and are rarely distracted by misbehaviour.
“Achievement in the sixth form is outstanding.”
As well as the outstanding grading for the sixth form, the school received a good grading for all the other main categories.
Jonathan Rowland, assistant headteacher, said the school was delighted with the inspection.
He said: “We’re very proud.
“The hard work of students, teachers, governors and parents has been rewarded by such a positive report.”
