Performance to melt the ice from school’s youngsters

CHILDREN at a Thorpe Bay school took to the stage to perform a specially-written play to mark the end of the school year.

Heart of Ice was written for Year 6 at Thorpe Hall School, Wakering Road, by Viv Cunningham, the school’s head of drama, and is an adaptation of the traditional fairytale of the Snow Queen.

The 33 talented youngsters staged the play watched by proud parents and staff.

Amanda Leslie, lower school head, said: “This was a rather special production because the exam schedule this year meant the pupils weren’t able to take part in any external drama competitions. This is an outstanding year group who have been hugely successful both academically and creatively.”
