THURROCK Labour MP Andrew MacKinlay is to step down at the next election.
Mr MacKinlay, who has been MP for Thurrock for 17 years, is rumoured to have become disillusioned with Parliament.
The Thurrock MP had recently been fighting for a review of the UK's extradition arrangements with the United States, a motion that was defeated in the House of Commons last week.
Mr MacKinlay was against the extradition of autism sufferer Gary McKinnon, who is being extradited to the United States on computer hacking charges.
