WORK being carried on at Three Shells Beach on Southend seafront is not to restore the cliffs slippage, but to provide a new decking area.
The Three Shells restaurant, one of the best known in the area, was granted planning permission for the work by the council’s development control committee some time ago but the works have been delayed until after the summer season.
John Lamb, councillor responsible for regeneration, said: “There is a substantial amount of work which needs to be done.
“Three Shells will be reinstating the area when the work is completed and it will be an asset to the seafront.”
