SUSAN the cow and other cast members of this year’s Towngate Theatre pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk plodded into the Barleylands depot to promote a new Christmas Tree recycling scheme.
The stunt was part of a publicity campaign organised by the council to advertise the new free service.
To recycle their tree residents must strip their trees of all decorations, and leave them at the edge of their property on their usual recycling day between January 18 and 29.
Alternatively trees can be taken to the Barleylands Recycling Centre in Barleylands Road, Billericay.
For more information on recycling over the festive period visit www.basildon.gov.uk/recycling or call Streetcare on 01268 294949.
