Firefighters called to two rubbish fires

FIRE crews from Southend were called to two rubbish fires last night.

The incidents within metres of each other in neighbouring roads Baxter Avenue and Boston Avenue, Southend were both deliberate fires.

Vandals had set light to a TV dumped in the street and also a bush at about 8pm.

The crews had earlier been called to extinguish a bonfire left unattended in Royston Avenue.

Will we see a headline of "Firefighters called to two really good fires" in the Echo?. It must be a slow day on the news front.
