Wat Tyler Country Park has hosted its first ever wedding.
Ed and Jen Hemingway, from Basildon, tied the knot in one of the Pitsea park’s historic 18th century thatched barns and then enjoyed their reception in the Wat Tyler Centre.
The park was granted a wedding licence in May this year.
Jen, 24, whose husband Ed is 25, said: “We liked the idea of getting married at Wat Tyler in the heritage barn as it is atmospheric, intimate and there is a history to the barn.
“By being the first people to get married there, we will also be making our own bit of history together.”
The £2.2million Wat Tyler Centre opened last summer.
