Appeal for driver who injured teenager in Rochford

Police are appealing for the driver of a 4x4 to come forwards after a teenager's foot was run over in Rochford.

The 14-year-old was injured on February 5 at about 6.40pm near the Sainsbury's supermarket in Back Lane after being knocked down by the black 4x4 car, which did not stop.

It is believed the driver of the vehicle did not realise they had hit a pedestrian.

The victim was taken to hospital by his parents with his injuries believed not to be very serious.

Anyone with any information should contact Pc Paul Stacey at the Laindon road policing team on 101.

How could the car and the child be so close that the chid's foot was run over? Was the child in the road or the car on the pavement?
