HOSPICE staff are urging walkers to dig out their trainers and wear wacky clothes to support MP John Baron’s annual charity fun walk.
Walkers can raise money for any charity they choose by completing the one, or three-mile route at the event, at 1pm, on May 27.
St Luke’s Hospice, Basildon, is one of the charities fundraising at the event, being held at Barleylands Farm, in Billericay.
Anita Whelan, community fundraiser for the hospice, said ‘There is no entry fee. Every person registering will receive a medal, bottle of water and certificate of recognition. All we ask is walkers raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship per adult and £10 per child.”
Mr Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay, said: “We very much welcome St Luke’s Hospice to the 2012 Fun Walk and hope this year they raise thousands of pounds from the event.”
