Sentimental items stolen in Southend burglary

A THIEF stole sentimental family items after breaking into a home in Southend.

The man forced his way into the property in Woodgrange Drive between 9.30am and midday on Friday <27> before leaving with several items of jewellery and small electrical goods.

Investigating officer Dc Reece Brent said: “Sentimental items of jewellery have been removed from the address and a camera containing keepsake photographs.

“This burglary has had a profound emotional effect upon the homeowner. We would urge people to invest in high-grade double-glazed doors.”

The thief is believed to be in his late 20s and is described as white but tanned, clean shaven, approximately 5ft 10ins tall.

He was wearing a dark sweatshirt with red and navy details, and was carrying a grey backpack.

Anyone with information in connection to the burglary is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
